Bill was born and
raised in Southwest Atlanta where he married his high school
sweetheart, Nancy. They have been married for 39 years and have four
sons and four grandchildren and have lived in Fayette County for
twenty-two years.
Serving as a Deacon
and Bible study teacher at New Hope Baptist Church, Bill is also on
the boards of the South Metro Fellowship of Christian Athletes and
The Black Rock Foundation. Recently Bill was appointed by the
Southern Baptist Convention to serve as a Trustee at Truett-McConnell
College.
Bill is an U.S.
Army veteran and also served as a Fayette County Commissioner for
eight years. While on the county commission Bill served on the Board
of Managers for the Association of County Commissions of Georgia and
was an instructor at the New County Commissioners Training Program.
In 1978 Bill
graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science
in Urban Planning. He has been in the real estate industry for 35
years, working both in corporate real estate and the brokerage
business. He is a founder of Southeast Properties, a commercial
asset management and real estate brokerage company, which he and his
partner started 15 years ago. He is a member of the Fayette County
and the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors.
In 2003 Governor
Sonny Purdue appointed Bill to the Georgia Real Estate Commission
and has been elected chairman for the last two years.
Bill has served as
county chairman for Bush-Chaney 2000 and 2004. In 2002 he was
Governor Sonny Perdue’s District Campaign Manager and is currently
the Governor’s county chairman. In 2004, Bill was a candidate for
the 16th State Senate District and is now on Congressman
Lynn Westmoreland’s Small Business Committee and finance team.
